Gone are the days when users were limited to choosing between either a Windows or an Android tablet. Many Chinese manufacturers have launched tablets supporting both operating systems, but Teclast Tbook 12 Pro offers even more. Unlike many other manufacturers that use Remix OS as the Android OS replacement, Telecast decided to stick with stock-like Android, which is a better decision by all means. Tbook 12 Pro features a slim and light weight design, powerful internals and a stunning 12.2-inch display. Windows 10 and Android Lollipop also feel right at home and offer a fluid user experience.
SJCAM SJ5000X- Overview
In the recent past, 4K recording, image stabilization, Wi-Fi connectivity and motion detection recording was something rarely seen in sub $100 cameras. But things have changed and now we are seeing these features in many affordable cameras. SJCAM tries to stretch the feature set even further with its SJ5000X Elite sports camera that offers ultra-high resolution footage and most of the bells and whistles of much more expensive sports cameras. The camera is not only an excellent option for people who are seriously into sports, but can also be used as dashboard cam. This allows customers to make the most out of their investment and use the camera in a variety of situations. The water proof case allows using the camera even when it’s raining and underwater, while the mounts make it easier to attach it with bikes, cars and more.

Pros and Cons
Excellent daylight recording quality
Comes with all needed accessories
Slow-motion and underwater recording
Below average sound quality
SJCAM SJ5000X Elite features a 12MP SONY sensor, 7 glass wide-angle lens and is powered by Novatek NTK96660 chipset and 900 mAH battery (Li-ion). The camera supports up to 128GB external memory, which is more than enough for most users. Affordable action cams usually don’t come with built-in display, but SJCAM features a 2-inch screen at the back, which makes it easier to take photos and record videos.
The actual performance is excellent considering the asking price and images turn out to be clear and sharp in good lighting conditions. However, quality in low-lighting conditions is just OK and there is nothing special to talk about it. The 1080p recording mode supports up to 60fps capture, but the quality does not significantly improve when you switch to 4K mode. The actual video resolution in the 4K mode is 2880×2160, which is not exactly 4K and just an up scaled 2K video. The built-in mic is good enough for casual recordings, but don’t expect top-notch sound quality from it as the recorded sound often turns out to be muffled and low (SJCAM confirmed sound quality issue affected only a few batches).
SJCAM SJ5000X Elite may be mistaken as a GoPro clone, but there are a few changes here and there. The three buttons (up, down, Wi-Fi/gyro) located at the side are tiny, while they are also placed very close to each other. The other side houses HDMI and USB ports and a memory card slot, while two LED indicators make it easier to see when the camera is recording or charging. The 2-inch screen at the back is a welcome addition, but the actual display quality is far from good. However, it’s still there and isn’t something we usually find on affordable cameras.
SJCAM SJ5000X Elite is a great option for people who want a multi-purpose action camera at an affordable price and can live without features such as GPS. It offers great value for the money and although far from being a perfect action camera, it still manages to offer a lot of features at such an affordable price. The 12MP SONY sensor works great in good lighting conditions and captures detailed and sharp images. Video stabilization, long exposure, slow-motion and underwater recording allow users to record in a variety of situations. However, don’t be fooled by the 4K label as the camera only records up-scaled 2K video, which is not much better than 1080p recording in terms of quality and resolved detail. If you really want a true 4K camera, it’s better to have a look at alternatives, but we should not expect too much from a sub $100 camera.
