Since this is a mid-range / budget phone, don’t expect you will find the latest chipset inside, but the Helio P23 Octa Core clocked at 2.5 GHz in combination with 4 GB RAM perfectly handles all the daily tasks, such as web browsing, Android gaming and social media – without any noticeable lags. What’s more, this CPU is made in a 16 nm technology, which improves energy efficiency, especially when compared to the power hungry components found in new iPhones or Samsungs.
X19 runs on Android 8.0 which is to be upgraded to version 9 in the next three months. This should allow you to use the all the latest operating system features and optimize the hardware for even better performance. 64 GB of internal storage, can be expanded with an up to 128 GB memory card, so you should have sufficient space for all your data needs.
Display and Cameras
The 5.93 inch screen displays in a high definition Full HD+ resolution, offering a great experience when watching movies and playing games on this tablet. This IPS technology panel has a high contrast of 1300: 1, and an impressive color reproduction of 90% of the NTSC palette. The display is protected by 2.5D glass resistant to scratches and cracks, so you should enjoy adequate protection, even if you’re not careful with your mobile gear.
X19 also stocks definitely above-average cameras. The 8.0MP front camera makes it easy to take a good selfie, which can be further improved by a rich set of filters – from subtle eye shadow correction to fantastic transformation of artistic portraits with a bokeh effect. The rear, double camera is even better: a five-part, 16.0MP + 2.0MP dual lens makes excellent photos even in low light conditions and has a fast PDAF autofocus, so that pictures taken in motion shouldn’t be blurred.
Design and other features
The first thing you’ll notice is definitely shiny, cool looking gradient cover in a range of colors named “Aurora”. This light reflecting phone surface is typically found in more expensive, designer phones and X19 is the cheapest phablet you can find with this type of cover surface. And if you’re looking for more conservative and serious look, perhaps for a business phone, fear not – CUBOT also offers X19 in classy black.
A fast working fingerprint reader is located at the back, and the double rear camera is slightly protruded. A big advantage is the above-average 4000 mAh battery, allowing for two, maybe three days of standard use on a single charge. Despite the large battery, X19 is neither heavy nor thick, and its slim body makes a good impression. There is also a notification LED that helps checking whether its time to plug it into charger, without waking up the screen. High speed internet is provided by two-channel Wi-Fi 2.4GHz / 5GHz in the latest 802.1.1 a/b/g/n standard, and the full range of LTE connectivity enables the availability of the network wherever you are.
CUBOT announced this phone literally as a “mid-end smartphones killer” and taking into account the price (especially during the pre-sale at GearBest – check below for details!), it’s hard to disagree. In fact, it has everything that makes up a typical smartphone in its range: Helio P23 processor, 4 GB RAM, almost 6 ” screen – in addition to cool looking gradient cover. Are you looking for inexpensive mobile gear for work and entertainment? X19 won’t let you down.
